Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a Union Territory of India, is one of the most beautiful group of islands in the world. Known for its clean air, sandy beaches, rainforests, exotic flora and fauna and varied marine life, Andaman and Nicobar is a preferred tourist destination. The islands group is the largest sea turtles nest in the world. Surrounded by the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, The Andaman is also known for being home to the Sentinelese people, the only known Paleolithic people having no contact with any other people.
The Cellular Jail located in Port Blair is a must visit place, where many freedom fighters of Indian Freedom Movement were incarcerated. Port Blair, capital of the islands, also houses attractions such as museums, Zoo, Marine Park, etc. Trekking, snorkeling and scuba diving are some of exciting activities tourists can do in the islands. Start your day by visiting some of the best city attractions in the Andaman Islands. Visit the famous Chatham Sawmill, which is amongst the oldest sawmill in Asia. The sawmill is named after this island. Then proceed to Anthropological Museum that hosts the tools, the pictures, and the history of the aboriginal tribes in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Post this, proceed to the Fisheries Museum that hosts varieties of fishes in Andaman Islands. Take a break and refresh yourself with varieties of delicious food options in the Andaman Islands. We then began our journey to the famous Cellular Jail, which hosted India’s most famous political prisoners. One among them was Veer Savarkar.
